Insight Driveways - Tarmacadam Driveways Built

Tarmacadam

Tarmac drives can last for years and years if laid correctly, so call in the experts.

The area is dug out and the hard core laid, leveled and compacted, membrane laid and the sharp sand laid, leveled and compacted.  Paving edgings and Block pave edgings have been laid.

Tarmacadam is used for driveways, patios and paths in residential properties and in the industrial sector.

Tarmacadam is used for car parks, sports areas, school playgrounds, pathways, etc.

We are experts in installing tarmac driveways with the latest quality bitumen and making sure that the preparation of the driveway is firstly clean and free from organic matter to avoid the surface from developing cracks.

Tarmac is a suitable material for your driveway installation.  It can also be repaired or re-surfaced if it gets damaged or worn.

It is also commonly used for highly trafficked areas such as forecourts, car parks, school playgrounds and private roads.

Of all the different types of surfacing which can be used to construct a driveway, tarmacadam is considered the budget option, especially when compared to block paving, or pattern imprinted concrete.

However, whilst large areas can be economically resurfaced the cost of using tarmac for a small driveway can be comparable to the more aesthetically pleasing block paving.

Reliable,

Smooth surface.

Resurfacing a driveway is the process of putting a new layer of tarmac over the existing layer, many properties can benefit from the fact that most existing tarmac and concrete drives can be overlaid with a new wearing course which means minimal disruption and fantastic cost advantages.

Reasons for tarmac sealing

Tarmac and asphalt surfaces are very vulnerable to the damaging effects of UV light from the sun. Over time the surface colour of the tarmac will fade and eventually the aggregate will become loose after prolonged exposure to UV light. If left to deteriorate further, the tarmac or asphalt will eventually start to crack up in places and the whole tarmac driveway or car park might have to be replaced.  Rain water will, over time, seep into the cracks damaging the tarmac.

Tarmac can be repaired and it can also be re-surfaced.
